Bangles 101 A Blog by GoBangles on Bangles

Bangles: A Brief History

Bangles are not just some new-fangled accessory. They’ve been around for thousands of years, worn in many different cultures and traditions. In India, bangles are traditionally worn by brides on their wedding day to symbolize fertility, prosperity and marital bliss. In Hindu culture, wearing a single bangle on one arm is associated with marriage while wearing two or more bangles can be seen as a sign of widowhood (a common misconception).

Bangles come in all shapes and sizes; they’re made from all sorts of materials: metal or glass, plastic or wood. You can even find them with precious stones set into them! No matter what kind you choose to wear or why you want them on your wrists – just make sure they fit properly so that they don’t slip off your hands when you’re dancing self-consciously at the next wedding reception!

Indian Bangles: Different Types of bangles

Indian bangles are the most popular type of bangles in the world. They come in a variety of materials, designs, colors and sizes.

  • Glass bangles have been around for centuries and are still popular today.
  • Metal bangles are made from brass, copper or silver alloys. The metal alloy gives them an antique look that can be matched with your other jewelry pieces.
  • Plastic bangles started appearing in India during the ’60s but didn’t become popular until much later when they were mass-produced by companies like Biba and Shubh Jewellers between ’90s – 2000s

Bangles are traditional Indian ornaments. They add a unique touch of color and style to your outfit, but it can be difficult to figure out how you want to pair them with other items in your jewelry box. To help you get started on figuring out how best to wear bangles, we’ve created this guide.

Wrist bracelets (also known as bangle bracelets) are simply bangles that fit snugly around the wrist without being too tight or loose. The best way to put them on is by holding each end of the bracelet in one hand and sliding it into place on either side of your hand until it rests comfortably against the backside of your wrist. Arm bracelets (also called kada) are wider than wrist bracelets and come in many different sizes so that they stay securely fastened around your arms while still allowing movement when needed during everyday activities such as exercise routines or even just walking around town!

You can wear a lot of different styles of bangles for different occasions.

  • Wear simple bangles for work.
  • Wear funky bangles for parties.
  • Wear casual, everyday bangles with your jeans and t-shirt.
