There is just something special about sitting in front of a fireplace with the warm, flickering light or snuggling up under a blanket and reading a good book. Lighting candles adds to this atmosphere and makes you feel like you are in your very own cosy cocoon. The simple pleasure of lighting a candle or a match can make all the difference to mood.

If you want to create that cozy atmosphere at home, have some fun by creating your own little candle holders out of beads and wire. These are easy to make and you can use them for many different things: as jewelry for yourself or as gifts; as decorations for tables during parties; maybe even as charms on your keychain?

Those who love cosiness will definitely appreciate these little treasures!

But what happens if there is no fireplace? Or what if you don’t want to walk around the house, hunting for matches to light that candle for some ambiance but don’t want to risk burning yourself on the hot wax?

Well, now you can make your own match striker. It’s easy and fun! And even though it’s made from a simple paper clip, it will still look stylish when worn as a bracelet accessory. You’ll also be able to strike up a conversation about how cool this DIY project is with other people who see it in action.

This project requires only three things: an unused paper clip (one with straight wires), an unused safety pin or pinback button(s), and some colored beads in two different colors/shapes (I used round black seed beads).

Well, now there is a genre of items known as match strikers that are all over the internet and a lot of them are really just pieces of metal with sandpaper on them. They might be useful but they aren’t exactly pretty.

But what if you want something that’s actually beautiful? Enter the art of bead making! A few simple supplies and a little bit of time can turn your next bracelet into a stunning accessory with an extra feature to light up your life (or at least give you an easy way to start a fire).

So I decided to make my own little match striker. It is actually a bracelet but this way you will always have it when you need it! The best part is it’s super easy and cost less than $5 to make!

There are many reasons why someone may want to create their own match striker. For example, if you are in an area where matches are hard to come by then you will want something like this on hand. Or if you find yourself needing an extra light source in the middle of the night then this can be used as well (just keep your eyes on the flame). It also makes a great gift idea for friends who enjoy camping or hiking because they can take it with them anywhere they want without worrying about whether or not they will have accesses or matches when needed most!

Here’s how I made mine: First off all go out & buy some cheap beads at any local craft store near your house (I got mine from Michael’s). If possible try getting ones that look like flames coming off them so people might think twice before trying burning themselves lol 😉 Next take one end off each one & glue them together so now there should be two sides but still connected at both ends; once done slide one end through your belt loop so when worn around waistline looks like necklace instead of bracelet! Now comes fun part…

Here’s how!

  • Cut off about 4 inches of fishing line and tie your bead firmly in the center with a square knot. I used 6 pound line in black but any color will do. It just has to be thin enough to fit through your beads.
  • Thread on as many beads as you would like, remembering that it will be easier if you start with the larger beads first and work down to the smaller ones at the end so there is room for them all without overlapping or crowding each other too much.
  • Tie off at each end using another square knot with some extra trimming around it if needed (you don’t want any sharp ends poking out towards where people’s skin might touch).

You will need a wood bead, some fine sandpaper (not regular sandpaper because it could scratch your skin), fishing line and wire cutters. That’s it! If you can’t find wood beads then try some plastic or even clay beads and finish them up with some stain so they have that wood grain look.
