Remove clutter.
Now that you know why clutter can be bad for your health and wellbeing, let’s take a look at how you can remove some of the things in your life that are causing you stress. When it comes to feng shui, one of the biggest things that people need to do is remove clutter from their homes. It may seem like an overwhelming task at first, but once you start putting together a plan and getting rid of things, it will feel great!
Here’s what taking on this challenge will do for you:
- Remove clutter helps us feel more organized. If all our belongings were neatly put away in drawers or cabinets, we’d know where everything was at all times instead having items strewn around wherever they fit best (or not being put away at all). Not only does having clean surfaces give off an air of organization and control, but having fewer things means less time spent cleaning and tidying up—not to mention the amount of money saved over time by buying smaller furniture pieces to accommodate fewer items.
Be intentional with the things you display.
You want to be intentional with the things you display. Your home is an extension of you, so it should be a reflection of who you are as a human being. If there’s something on your wall that doesn’t make sense to your life or isn’t relevant, get rid of it! It doesn’t do any good sitting there collecting dust and taking up space in your mind. It’s better to have less stuff than more stuff because then when you’re looking around at items hanging on the walls, they will all be meaningful in some way and make sense together!
Another thing that brings happiness is art—whether it’s paintings or photos or even just cool posters from concerts or events you’ve been to (like concerts). These things can make for great conversation starters when guests come over! You could also make things like photo albums where everyone can add pictures from their time together so they’ll always remember those special moments together; this may even help keep people closer over time because there will always be reminders around them about what made them such great friends/family members etc… And lastly but not least, I would suggest hanging plants wherever possible–they’re very easy-to-care-for plants so don’t worry about messing anything up either!”
Declutter regularly.
Decluttering is one of the easiest ways to bring more balance and harmony into your life. Start by taking a look at your home and asking yourself which items are the most important to you, then donate or sell the ones that don’t contribute to this. When you declutter regularly, it will become easier for you to do so in the future.

When we live in an environment with clutter around us, it can feel like there’s not enough space for our energy or emotions — but when we live in a home that is clear of unnecessary items, our minds are able to relax as they focus on other things like work or family life instead of worrying about where everything goes when it needs its own space within our living quarters.”
Make your home feel welcoming.
- Make your home feel welcoming. Whether you’re inviting family over for the holidays or just having friends over for a Netflix marathon, make sure your living room feels cozy and inviting. Add soft cushions and throws to soften up the space and make it feel more like a home rather than an office or school.
- Make sure there’s enough space for everyone to sit down comfortably on the rug… [Read More]
Add a little greenery.
There are many simple ways to add a little greenery to your home. Plants are inexpensive and easy to maintain, and they make your home look great. Plus, they can improve your health! A few easy-to-maintain plants include:
- Jade plant (Crassula ovata)
- Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)
- Peace lily (Spathiphyllum wallisii)
Keep your electronics out of sight.
When you’re at home, you should be able to relax and unwind. You don’t want to have to worry about your email or social media notifications popping up on your phone every few minutes. If you can’t put your phone away entirely, move it out of sight so that it’s not constantly being distracting. You can also use an app like StayFocusd for Chrome or iOS that blocks certain websites for a set amount of time each day (again, be sure NOT to use this during work hours!).
If you’re using a laptop computer, consider moving it into another room where people will be less likely to see what’s on the screen: for example, if someone is trying to watch TV in the living room while someone else is sitting at their desk in another corner of the same room, they’ll probably get distracted every time they glance over there!
Keep items in your line of sight that represent your goals, dreams, and values.
One of the best ways to keep your goals, dreams and values in mind is to have reminders of them in your line of sight. When you see these items every day, it will remind you why you are working toward those goals and dreams.
Examples include: photos or mementos of family members or special events; certificates, trophies and other awards that represent achievements; postcards from vacations or trips; souvenirs from adventures (such as a rock from a hike).
You can improve your life with some simple changes to make your home a more calm and balanced place.
- Avoid keeping your electronics out of sight. Electronics have a tendency to distract us and take our focus away from more important things, like family, friends, and hobbies.
- Keep the clutter cleared up regularly. Clutter can be overwhelming, especially when it’s in piles around the house instead of boxed up neatly in closets or storage areas.
- Remove any unnecessary items from your home that aren’t serving a purpose for you anymore—this includes clothes that don’t fit anymore as well as old books or furniture that no longer serve their original purpose (maybe you don’t need a rocking chair when you live in an apartment).
- Make sure everything has meaning—if it doesn’t serve another purpose besides looking pretty then get rid of it! This will make room for things that are more important to you while making sure they don’t get lost amidst all the other stuff floating around in your space; this will also help keep things tidy which keeps energy flowing smoothly throughout the room/house!
