FLORIDA
FLORIDA
The Sunshine State is full of things to do, so it’s no surprise that most people head straight for Orlando. And why not? Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld are all in the same area! But if you aren’t looking for Mickey Mouse or sharks (or both), there are lots of other great spots throughout Florida. Cape Canaveral is home to NASA and its Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where you can tour rockets, learn about space travel and get a glimpse into Florida’s history as the gateway to exploration in America. If your family loves nature, then try heading south on Highway 1; this route takes travelers along the coast of beaches with white sand dunes rising up from crystal blue waters.
TEXAS
Texas is a big state with a lot of history and things to see and do. There’s so much to explore in Texas, from the beaches of Galveston to the Hill Country and everything in between.
In Texas, you can take part in one of the best outdoor experiences around, whether you’re visiting Big Bend National Park or spending time in one of the many nature preserves and parks. Or perhaps you’d rather enjoy some Tex-Mex cuisine at El Fenix or find yourself lost in tastes that are new but familiar at Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant. This isn’t even mentioning all the amazing BBQ joints around town!
OREGON
- OREGON
- * Portland
Portland is the capital of Oregon and it has a population of around 600,000 people. It’s an amazing city with lots of great restaurants and cafes. There are also lots of boutiques, bookstores, record shops, art galleries and museums. They have amazing coffee houses too!
- * Newport
The Newport area is beautiful with its beaches and parks. There are also great hiking trails along the coast that lead to places like Yaquina Head Lighthouse (where they have guided tours). You can even go whale watching out here!
- * Bend/Sunriver
These two towns located about 70 miles outside of Portland offer some great outdoor activities including mountain biking trails, hiking paths through old growth forests or skiing at Mt Bachelor Ski Resort during winter months.
CALIFORNIA
California is a beautiful state, and we’ve got so much to offer. There’s San Francisco and its Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood with its movie star homes and the stars themselves. Monterey Bay is filled with marine life like whales, dolphins, sea lions and even sharks! Sequoia National Park has some of the oldest living trees in the world! Yosemite National Park has some breathtaking scenery as well as some wonderful campgrounds where you can stay for a few days without having to carry too many things with you (we’ll cover that later). Disneyland is fun for all ages; there’s rides for everyone from toddlers on up! From our beaches at San Diego all across our coastlines to Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City…this list goes on forever!
Malibu has been known as one of Hollywood’s favorite getaways since 1953 when Marilyn Monroe made her home there after leaving Arthur Miller who was still trying to make a living off Broadway plays despite several failed attempts at writing one himself (he finally did though: The Crucible). Lake Arrowhead has many cabins available if your group wants somewhere more private than staying at an RV park which means less noise pollution while they’re resting up before heading back out into nature again tomorrow morning after breakfast at 7am sharp outside next door.”
Washington, DC
Washington, D.C. is a great place to visit for many reasons. For one, there are so many museums and monuments in the city that you could spend years trying to see them all! Also, Washington has a lot of great restaurants, including those with food from all over the world—and of course it’s fun to walk around the streets looking at different shops while trying out some delicious snacks. Lastly, there’s plenty of history here: if you like learning about how people used to live and what they thought about things back then (like war, politics or science), this is definitely where you should go!
NEW YORK
You can visit museums and galleries, see the Statue of Liberty, take a boat trip around the island, visit the Empire State Building (which has an observatory deck), see a Broadway show, walk over Brooklyn Bridge.
These are fun and interesting places to visit when you travel with family and friends
Great Places to Visit with Family and Friends
If you’re planning a vacation, it’s easy to get caught up in the idea of seeing all the big attractions. But if you’re traveling with family and friends (and especially children), it’s important to take into account your group’s interests. It can be just as much fun to see something that isn’t on most people’s travel itineraries—or at least not on their must-see lists. Here are some ideas for places off the beaten path:
- A local museum or art gallery. Museums often have special events where they offer free admission or reduced-price tickets, so make sure you check them out before heading out. If there aren’t any special events planned while you’ll be visiting, ask if there are other days when admission prices are lower than normal; many museums offer discounts throughout the week and during certain times of day such as afternoons or late nights (which are ideal times for families who have young children). When it comes time to choose an activity while visiting this museum: try playing games like chess with each other while waiting in line; go from exhibit to exhibit discussing what each one means in terms of history/culture/etc.; try posing questions about each piece until someone has enough “points” for winning!
